Alejandra tiene catorce años (cumple el 14 de enero) y estudia octavo grado. Vive con sus papás, Arely y Francisco, y sus cinco hermanos. Alejandra tiene tres hermanos que estudian en el colegio también: Moisés Francisco (noveno grado), Sandra Vanessa (sexto grado), and Jimena Isabel (cuarto grado). Su hermano mayor y su esposa acaban de tener un bebé, así que Alejandra ya es tía!

Las materias favoritas de Alejandra son ciencias y computación y su comida favorita es la lasaña. Cuando sea grande, quiere ser doctora. Lo que más le gusta del colegio es jugar voleibol y fútbol durante la clase de educación física. También le gusta correr. Alejandra compitió en los 800m en la competencia departamental de atletismo el año pasado. Le gustaría poder entrenar más. En su tiempo libre, a Alejandra le gusta jugar con sus amigos y escuchar música. También le gustaría ser turista, porque es chivo andar conociendo a nuevos lugares. Una cosa que no le gusta hacer es lavar los platos.

El deseo de Arely Hernández para sus hijos es tenerlos todos en el colegio. Aunque solo terminó sexto grado, ella tiene grandes esperanzas para ellos. Ya que su hijo mayor estudió en la escuela pública, ha visto las diferencias en la educación que reciben sus otros hijos en el colegio. Además, Alejandra y Moisés son acólitos en la iglesia del pueblo. La familia valora el componente religioso de la educación también.

Sin embargo, con tantos hijos, en adición a los problemas de salud que ha tenido Arely receientemente, la familia no puede con las cuotas mensuales para todos los hijos. Por eso hemos ofrecido una beca a esta familia.

Alejandra is fourteen years old and in eighth grade. Her birthday is January 14th. She lives with her parents, Arely and Francisco, and her five brothers and sisters. Alejandra has three other siblings at PNARDS, Moisés Francisco (ninth grade), Sandra Vanessa (sixth grade), and Jimena Isabel (fourth grade). Alejandra just became an aunt! Her oldest brother and his wife had a baby last year.

Alejandra’s favorite subjects are science and computers and her favorite food is lasagna. When she grows up, she wants to be a doctor. Alejandra’s favorite part of studying at PNARDS is playing volleyball and soccer during gym class. She also likes to run and competed in the 800m run at the state level last year. She’d like to practice more. In her free time, Alejandra likes to play with friends and listen to music. She’d also like to be a tourist she says, because it’s cool to get to know new places. One thing Alejandra doesn’t like to do is wash the dishes!

Arely Hernández’s wish for her children is to have them all enrolled at PNARDS. Even though she only completed sixth grade, she has big hopes for her children. Since her oldest son studied at the public school, she has seen the positive differences in the education her other children receive at PNARDS. In addition, since Alejandra and Moisés are both altar servers at the Catholic church in town, the family also values the religious component of education.

However, with so many children to support, in addition to Arely’s recent medical problems, the family cannot afford full tuition for all of them. Therefore, we have offered Alejandra and her siblings a scholarship.
