Ángel tiene dieciocho años y estudia octavo grado en el colegio. Es su primer año aquí, aunque sus hermanas Dora y Marta tiene años de estar aquí ya, y su otra hermana, Lupe, es graduada del colegio también. Ángel vive en un caserío del Agua Caliente llamado “El Morrito”, con sus padres y sus hermanas. La familia es pobre – tiene un pequeño terreno donde cultivan maíz y frijoles y también tiene gallinas, pero lo que siembran ni a veces alcanza para la familia.
Cuando Lupe empezó a estudiar en el colegio, en el 2016, Ángel dejó de estudiar porque quería trabajar, pero este año le pidió a su mamá que le inscribiera aquí, ya que ha visto como han mejorado sus hermanas. Él le dijo que quería aprender a leer corrido en público.
La comida favorita de Ángel es pollo y su materia favorita es inglés. Le gustaría seguir estudiando, y si tuviera la oportunidad, ser abogado. En su tiempo libre, sigue trabajando para apoyar a la familia.

Ángel is eighteen years old and in eighth grade at PNARDS. This is his first year here, although his sisters Dora and Marta have been studying here for a few years now and his other sister, Lupe, is a PNARDS graduate. Ángel lives in a tiny hamlet called “El Morrito”, outside Agua Caliente, with his parents and sisters. Their family is extremely poor – they have a small area which they cultivate with corn and beans and they also keep chickens, but the crops they raise are just enough to keep for themselves.
When Lupe started coming to PNARDS, in 2016, Ángel dropped out of school because he wanted to work, but this year he bugged his mom to enroll him here, because he’s seen how much his sisters have improved since coming here and because he wants to learn to read well in public.
Ángel’s favorite food is chicken and his favorite subject is English. He’d like to keep studying, and if he had the opportunity, he’d like to be a lawyer. In his free time, he continues to work to help support his family.
