Cándida (su familia y amigos le dicen Candi) tiene trece años y estudia octavo grado en el colegio. Cuatro de sus hermanas (es una de siete hermanos) también estudian aquí: Milagro Michelle (segundo grado), Fátima Yamileth (tercer grado), Dominga Eneida (sexto grado), y María Magdalena (noveno grado).
Las comidas favoritas de Candi son pupusas y pizza y sus materias favoritas son matemáticas y ciencias. Le gusta jugar voleibol y hacer sus tareas. Cuando sea grande, quiere ser doctorada en matemáticas.
La familia de Candi tiene una tienda fuerte en el pueblo, pero con siete hijos, es dificil alcanzar cuidar toda la familia y pagar las cuotas. La familia es religiosa y Candi es acólita. Sus papás saben que aquí, recibirá la mejor educación posible, junto con la formación religiosa que sienten tan importante.

Cándida (or, as her family and friends call her, Candi) is thirteen years old and attends eighth grade at PNARDS. Four of her sisters (she’s one of seven siblings) also attend PNARDS; Milagro Michelle (second grade), Fátima Yamileth (third grade), Dominga Eneida (sixth grade), and María Magdalena (ninth grade).
Candi’s favorite foods are pupusas and pizza and her favorite subjects are math and science. She likes playing volleyball and also doing her homework. When she grows up, she wants to be a doctor in mathematics.
Cándida’s family has a grocery store in town, but with seven children to care for, it can be difficult for her parents to make ends meet and provide their children with the education they feel the girls merit. Her family is very religious and Candi can often be found altar-serving at Mass, along with one of her siblings. Candi’s parents know that their daughters will get the best possible education at PNARDS, along with the religious component that they find so important.
