Alexandra tiene nueve años y estudia tercer grado. Vive con sus padres y su hermana, Madelin, quien estudia noveno grado, y su perra, Osa, en el cantón de Agua Zarca, a unos diez minutos en carro del pueblo. Vive a la par de sus primos, Santiago y Luis; ellos también estudian en el colegio.

La materia favorita de Alexandra es matemáticas y no save que quiere ser cuando sea grande. La comida favorita de Alexandra es tacos y en su tiempo libre le gusta jugar. Tiene una colección de dados y otra de palitos de helados.

El papá de Alexandra tiene ganado y su mamá hace tortillas para vender. Sin embargo, sus ingresos mensuales solo son de $150. Vienen a estudiar con un vecino, por lo tanto no tiene que pagar el pasaje del bus, pero aún así está dificil para los papás de Alexandra alcanzar la mensualidad para sus dos hijas. Por eso, le hemos ofrecido a Alexandra una media beca para que siga estudiando aquí con su hermana.

Alexandra is nine years old and in third grade. She lives with her parents and her sister, Madelin, who is in ninth grade, and their dog Osa (Bear), in the township of Agua Zarca. She lives right next door to her cousins, Santiago and Luis, who also go to PNARDS.

Alexandra’s favorite subject is math and she doesn’t know what she wants to be when she grows up. Alexandra’s favorite food is tacos and in her free time she likes to play. Alexandra has a collection of dice and a collection of sticks from popsicles she’s eaten.

Alexandra’s parents keep dairy cattle and her mother also makes tortillas to sell. However, their income is only about $150 per month. She and her sister get a ride to school with their neighbor every day, which means they don’t have to pay for the bus to get in to town, but even so, it is hard for her parents to afford the tuition for both girls. Therefore, we have offered a half-scholarship to Alexandra so that she and Madelin can keep studying at PNARDS.
