Gabriel tiene doce años y estudia sexto grado en el colegio. Vive con su mamá, su hermana Jhoselyn Idalma (estudia cuarto en el colegio también) y Sury Milagro (graduada del colegio el año pasado). Su familia vive en el cantón de Agua Fría, en las afueras de Agua Caliente.
La materia favorita de Gabriel es computación y le gusta jugar fútbol con sus compañeros en el receso. Cuando sea grande, quiere ser arquitecto. En la casa, ayuda con los quehaceres, sobre todo barriendo y trapeando. Su comida favorita es el pollo y en su tiempo libre, le gusta jugar en su teléfono.
En el 2015, la mamá de Gabriel, Margarita, se graduó de noveno grado. Había dejado de estudiar cuando tuvo su primera hija, pero quiso seguir estudiando para dar un buen ejemplo a sus hijos. Sabe de primera mano que el colegio es el mejor lugar para sus hijos. Además, cuando Gabriel estaba más chiquito, tenía dificultades con el aprendizaje, y la profesora que tenía le ayudó bastante para superarlas. En los años pasados, la tía de Gabriel había ayudado con los estudios de los muchachos, pero ahora ya no puede, entonces le hemos ofrecido beca a la familia para que sigan estudiando aquí.

Gabriel is twelve years old and in sixth grade at PNARDS. Gabriel lives with his mother and his two sisters, Jhoselyn Idalma (who is in fourth grade at PNARDS) and Sury Milagro (who graduated from ninth grade at PNARDS last year). His family lives in the small township of Agua Fría, outside Agua Caliente.
Gabriel’s favorite subject is computers and he likes to play soccer with his classmates at recess. When he grows up, he wants to be an architect. At home, Gabriel helps out with the chores, especially sweeping and mopping the house. His favorite food is chicken and in his free time, he likes to play games on the cell phone.
In 2015, Gabriel’s mother, Margarita, graduated from ninth grade at PNARDS. She wanted to finish her studies to encourage her children in their own studies. She knows first-hand that PNARDS is the best place for her kids to study. Additionally, when Gabriel was younger, he had some speech and learning difficulties, which the teachers at PNARDS helped him to overcome, so Margarita wants to keep him here. In the past, Gabriel’s aunt has helped the family out, but this year will not be able to do so, so Gabriel receives a half-scholarship to continue studying at PNARDS.
