Fátima is nine years old and attends third grade at PNARDS. Four of her sisters (she’s one of seven siblings) also attend PNARDS: Milagro Michelle (second grade), Dominga Eneida (sixth grade), Cándida Dinora (eighth grade), and María Magdalena (ninth grade).
Fátima’s favorite food is hamburgers and her favorite subject is science. She likes comes to school because she has a lot of friends here and she likes doing her homework. In her free time, she plays with her sisters. When Fátima grows up, she wants to be a teacher.
Dominga’s family has a grocery store in town, but with seven children to care for, it can be difficult for her parents to make ends meet and provide their children with the education they feel the girls merit. Her family is very religious and is very much in favor of the religious component of education at PNARDS. Her parents know that here, she’ll get the best possible education with the religious component they find so important. In addition, Fátima has been having some trouble learning how to read, so the additional attention she receives one afternoon a week is a big help to her.
