Gabriela tiene ocho años y estudia segundo grado. Su hermanito, Jesús, estudia kínder-4. Los hermanos viven con su mamá, Gabriela, su padrastro, Eléximo, y su nuevo hermanito, Joshua. El papá de Gaby también vive en el pueblo pero la situación está algo complicada.
Las comidas favoritas de Gaby son queso y crema y su materia favorita es inglés. Lo que más le gusta del colegio es que tiene clase de educación física y que puede pasar mucho tiempo con sus compañeros. Gaby ama a su hermanito y pasan jugando fútbol juntos. Cuando sea grande, quiere ser licenciada y trabajar en la cooperativa (banco) como su mamá hacía antes.
Gabriela sabe que la educación es importante para sus hijos y que el colegio es el lugar más apto para ellos. Sin embargo, como no puede con la cuota para los dos niños, y el papá de ellos no ayuda con mucho, le hemos ofrecido media beca.

Gabriela is eight years old and in second grade at PNARDS. She has a little brother, Jesús, who is in kindergarten here. The two siblings live with their mother, who is also named Gabriela, their step-father, Eleximo, and their new baby brother, Joshua. Gaby’s father also lives in town but their family situation is a bit complicated.
Gabriela’s favorite foods are cheese and fresh cream and her favorite subject is English. What she likes most about school is that she has gym class and that she can spend lots of time with her classmates. Gabriela loves her brother and they like to play soccer together. When she grows up, she wants to get a college degree and work in the cooperative bank in town, just like her mom used to do.
Gaby’s mom knows that education is important and thinks that PNARDS is the best place for her children to study. However, since she can’t afford the tuition, and Jesús’s father isn’t much help, we are happy to offer him a half-scholarship.
