Jhoselyn tiene diez años y estudia cuarto grado en el colegio. Vive con su mamá, su hermano, Elmer Gabriel (estudia sexto grado en el colegio), y su hermana, Sury Milagro (graduada del colegio en el 2017). Su familia vive en el cantón de Agua Fría, afuera del pueblo de Agua Caliente.
Jhoselyn (le dicen «Jho») es una muchacha inteligente y amigable. Su materia favorita en inglés y su comida favorita es pizza. Cuando Jho sea grande, quiere ser profesora, para que los demás niños aprendan. En su tiempo libre, le gusta jugar con su hermano, Gabriel. Ya sabe hacer tortillas! También, tiene una colección de piedras bonitas.
En el 2015, la mamá de Gabriel, Margarita, se graduó de noveno grado en el colegio. Había dejado de estudiar cuando tuvo su primera hija, pero quiso seguir estudiando para dar un buen ejemplo a sus hijos. Sabe de primera mano que el colegio es el mejor lugar para sus hijos. En años pasados, la tía de Gabriel había ayudado con los estudios de los muchachos, pero ahora ya no puede, entonces le hemos ofrecido beca a Jhoselyn porque sabemos que esta niña puede hacer mucho para su país solo tenga la oportunidad!

Jhoselyn is ten years old and in fourth grade at PNARDS. Jhoselyn lives with her mother her brother, Elmer Gabriel (who is in sixth grade at PNARDS), and her sister, Sury Milagro (who graduated from ninth grade at PNARDS last year). Her family lives in the small township of Agua Fría, outside Agua Caliente.
Jhoselyn (her family calls her “Jho”) is a very smart, friendly girl. Jhoselyn’s favorite subject is English and her favorite food is pizza. When she grows up, she wants to be a teacher, so that other children can learn. In Jhoselyn’s free time, she likes to play with her brother, Gabriel, and she already knows how to make tortillas! Jhoselyn also has a rock collection.
In 2015, Jhoselyn’s mother, Margarita, graduated from ninth grade at PNARDS. She wanted to finish her studies to encourage her children in their own studies. She knows first-hand that PNARDS is the best place for her kids to study, but she can’t afford tuition for both kids. In the past, Jhoselyn’s aunt has helped the family out, but this year will not be able to do so. Therefore, we have offered Jhoselyn a full scholarship, because we know that this bright girl will be able to make a difference in her country someday, if only she is offered the right opportunities!
