Adán tiene doce años y estudia séptimo grado en el colegio. El año pasado, Adán estudió en la escuela pública de su cantón de Agua Fría, pero la escuela solo llega hasta sexto grado. Este año ha venido a estudiar aquí con su hermana, Verónica (noveno grado).
A Adán le encanta jugar fútbol. En su tiempo libre, ayuda a su familia con la milpa (siembra de frijoles y maíz) para comer durante el año. Su materia favorita es matemáticas y su comida favorita es pescado. Lo que más le gusta del colegio son sus nuevos amigos. Es muy extrovertido.
La mamá de Adán quiere asegurarse de que su hijo reciba una buena educación católica, pero, como es madre soltera, se le dificulta la situación, especialmente como la abuela de Adán está enferma.

Adán is twelve years old and in seventh grade at PNARDS. Last year, Adán studied at the public school in his village of Agua Fría, but the school there only goes up until sixth grade. This year, he has come to study at PNARDS with his sister, Verónica (ninth grade).
Adán loves playing soccer. In his free time, he works with his family to help plant corn and beans for them to eat throughout the year. His favorite subject is math and his favorite food is fish. Adán’s favorite part of coming to study at PNARDS is the new friends he’s made; he’s very outgoing.
Adán’s mother wants to make sure her son gets a good, Catholic, education, but, since she is a single mother, she can’t afford to send both her children to PNARDS, especially since one of their family members has some serious health issues.
