Joshua tiene seis años y estudia kínder-6 en el colegio. Tiene un gemelo, Francisco Alexander, que está en su misma clase. (Los puede diferenciar porque Joshua tiene un lunar en la mejilla y Fran no…pero sus compañeros les dicen «gemelo» a los dos.) También tiene una hermanita, que está en Estados Unidos con su mamá, Yessica. Fran y Joshua viven con su abuela, Rosa Enma, su abuelo, y su tía Nayely, graduada del colegio el año pasado.
Los colores favoritos de Joshua son verde, amarillo, y azul y su comida favorita es la pizza. Cuando le pregunta que quiere ser cuando sea grande, dice, «Voy a ir a Estados Unidos y jugar con bolas de nieve.». También quiere ser doctor y viajar a París. Lo que más le gusta del colegio es la clase de computación y cuando está en la casa, le gusta jugar con su gemelo y los niños vecinos. Fran y Joshua son algo tremendos en la clase porque hacen muchas preguntas y les gusta correr, pero son muy cariñosos y contentos.
Estamos contentos de poder ofrecerle media beca a esta familia porque Enma se esfuerza para que sus nietos estudien aquí. Gana un poquito vendiendo en la comunidades del Agua Caliente. La mamá de los gemelos también ayuda, pero ya que tiene una bebé, está más difícil. También, Joshua tiene unos problemas médicos y Enma le ha tenido que llevar a menudo a San Salvador, lo cual implica otro gasto para la familia.

Joshua is six years old and in Kínder-6 at PNARDS. He has an identical twin brother, Francisco Alexander, who is in his same class. (You can tell them apart because Joshua has a freckle on his cheek and Francisco doesn’t.) He also has a baby sister, who is in the US with his mother, Yessica. Francisco and Joshua live with their grandmother, Rosa Enma, and their aunt, Nayely, who graduated from 9th grade at PNARDS last year.
Joshua’s favorite colors are green, yellow, and blue and his favorite food is pizza. When asked what he’s going to do when he’s all grown up, he replied “I’m going to go to the United States and play with snowballs.” He says he wants to be a doctor and also travel to Paris. Joshua’s favorite part of coming to school is computer class and when he’s at home he likes to play with his twin and the boys in his neighborhood. Fran and Joshua are a handful in class, because they like to ask a lot of questions and run around, but they are also very loving and happy.
We are happy to offer this family a scholarship because Enma works hard to keep her grandsons here. She earns a little bit for her family by going to the communities around Agua Caliente to sell different things. The boys’ mother helps a bit with their education, but now that she has a new baby, she isn’t able to send as much. Also, Joshua has some medical problems and his grandma has had to take him to the Children’s Hospital in San Salvador quite a bit lately, which is also a hardship for the family.
