Kevin tiene ocho años y estudia segundo grado en el colegio. Vive con su mamá y su tía en el cantón de Agua Zarca, unos 10 minutos en carro del colegio.
Kevin es muy amigable y también un poco obstinado. Le gusta el color verde, los dinosaurios, y las papas fritas. La materia favorita de Kevin es ciencias y cuando sea grande quiere ser científico. Le gusta venir al colegio porque le gusta estudiar.
La mamá de Kevin, Wendy, es muy trabajadora. Antes vendía pan de su bicicleta, pero hace un par de años, empezó a alquilar un puesto en el mercado del pueblo, donde vende pasteles y otros postres. Siempre le hace un gran pastel a Kevin para su cumpleaños, con su foto! La tía de Kevin tiene un puesto de mariscos a la par. Kevin no conoce a su papá, pero la familia de su mamá es muy unida, y Kevin suele ir a pasar vacaciones con sus abuelos y su tío. Ellos viven cerca del puerto.
Kevin recibe una media beca para estudiar. Su mamá sabe que la educación es muy importante y que Kevin está bien aquí en el colegio, donde hay buenos profesores y buenos valores.

Kevin is eight years old and attends second grade at PNARDS. He lives with his mother and his aunt in the township of Agua Zarca, about 10 minutes’ drive from the school.
Kevin is a very friendly, but very opinionated boy. He likes the color green, dinosaurs, and French fries. His favorite subject is science and when he grows up, he wants to be a scientist! He’s a hard worker and always does his homework at home. He likes to come to school because he likes to study.
Kevin’s mother, Wendy, is also a very hard-working woman. She used to sell baked goods from her bicycle, but has recently obtained a place in the market in town, from which she sells cakes and other desserts. She always makes Kevin an awesome cake with a picture on it for his birthday. Kevin’s aunt has a place next to his mom’s and she runs a small seafood restaurant. Kevin doesn’t know his father, but thankfully his mom’s family is very close and he often goes to spend vacations with his grandparents and uncle, who live near the port.
Kevin receives a half-scholarship to study at PNARDS. His mom knows how important it is to get a good education, and she knows that the education Kevin receives here at PNARDS is the most complete, with good teachers and values.
