Dear Lesly,
I write to you with affection and hope all is well with you.
I would like to tell you that my mother keeps our house and my father keeps a small farm where he grows corn, beans, and sorghum, for our family to eat. My parents are very hard workers. They have always known how to overcome problems in our family. I have six sisters and two brothers.
I go to Catholic school and like to go to Mass on Sunday with my mother and father. I also like to go out with my friends nad family. I want to study so I can be a better member of society and help people. I like the idea of becoming a doctor someday, but first I have to finish high school, so I can be a successful woman in the future.
I, and my family, are very grateful for the support you have given me.
That’s it for now. May God pour out abundant blessings upon you and your family.
Affectionately,
Antonia Yamileth Tejada Méndez

My dear Godparents,
I hope you are well – my name is Denis. I am very thankful for the support you are providing for my studies, although we don’t know each other, I hope we can meet someday.
Thanks be to God, I am doing well with my studies. When I grow up, I want to be a construction engineer. I like to build little houses, play with cars, ride my bike and play basketball. At home, I help my grandmother clean the house. I am friendly and helpful to my classmates and to everyone. I love all kinds of animals, but especially puppiese.
My parents work. My father works on a ranch and my mother works in a bakery. I live with my grandparents and my little cousin and we spend all our time together. My grandfather and I dig in the dirt with shovels and hoes. I like music and like to dance. I am happy to be writing to you and telling you all about what I do and what I like. I hope to God that one day my dreams will become reality and that other children will have the oportunity to be helped so that they can study and achieve their goals.
Please write back. I would like to know more about you – where you live, what you do.
May God bless you and your family.
Yours,
Denis Aguilar

Dear Kelly,
Hello, i hope you are well.
I am writing to tell you about myself. To start with, soon, we will celebrate Independence Day, on September 15th. I am going to be in a parade, dressed up as a firefighter. I like firefighters and fire trucks and when I grow up, I want to be a firefighter, so I can put out fires and save people.
I’m very excited for the parade, and my aunts and uncles are going to come see me.
I am an only child and I live with my mother and my aunt. My aunt cares for me while my mother goes out to sell bread – she has a small bakery where she makes the bread and then she goes out to sell it. I try to help her when I can, sometimes I go out to deliver orders. My mother works a lot, but she’s very attentive to me. She likes when I study and learn new things. And I like to do my work, because then I will learn more and that is how I will become a firefighter.
I want tos ay thank you for the support and help that you provide with my scholarship, because it helps me to continue my studies at the Colegio. I learn English and computer skills, which are new for me. I have a lot of friends to share with – sometimes my grandma gives me candy to share, because she says we all have to learn to share with others.
Kelly, I’ll say goodbye now, and thank you again for your help. I hope the Lord will bring you many blessings andwill care for you and your family. Hugs from me and my mom.
Affectionately,
Kevin Adonay Cantor

Dear Godfather,
Hello! I hope that God and the Virgen Mary bless you and your family and I hope you are doing well.
I am writing this letter to let you know that I am doing well with school, thanks be to God. I have a little trouble with English class, but I like gym and art. To get to school every day, I take the bus, because we live in a place called Agua Zarca, a little before you get to Agua Caliente.
My father is called Gregior and he works ona farm and my mother is Elsa and she keeps our house. I have three brothers, and I am the only girl. They take good care of me.
It is a pleasure to be able to write you this little letter to thank you for the support you have given me. From the bottom of my heart, thank you. God will reward you for your kindness and for being such a nice person to me.
Love,
Esmeralda Cecilia Urquilla Ochoa
