Magdalena (le dicen “Mauda”) tiene quince años y estudia noveno grado en el colegio. Cuatro de sus hermanas (es una de siete hermanos) tambien estudian aquí: Milagro Michelle (segundo grado), Fátima Yamileth (tercer grado), Dominga Eneida (sexto grado), y Cándida Dinora (octavo grado).
La materia favorita de Mauda es lenguaje y su color favorito es el morado. Le gusta dormir. Piensa seguir estudiando en el instituto nacional (high school) aquí en el pueblo el otro año. La comida favorita de Mauda es tacos.
La familia de Mauda tiene una tienda fuerte en el pueblo, pero con siete hijos, es dificil alcanzar cuidar toda la familia y pagar las cuotas. La familia es religiosa y Magdalena es acólita. Sus papás saben que aquí, recibirá la mejor educación posible, junto con la formación religiosa que sienten tan importante.

Magdalena (her family calls her “Mauda”) is fourteen years old and attends ninth grade at PNARDS. Four of her sisters (she’s one of seven siblings) also attend PNARDS: Milagro Michelle (second grade), Fátima Yamileth (third grade), Dominga Eneida (sixth grade), and Cándida Dinora (eighth grade).
Mauda’s favorite subject is language arts and her favorite color is purple. She likes sleeping. Mauda plans to continue studying at the public high school next year. Her favorite food is tacos.
Mauda’s family has a grocery store in town, but with seven children to care for, it can be difficult for her parents to make ends meet and provide their children with the education they feel the girls merit. Her family is very religious, in fact, Mauda is an altar server, and is very much in favor of the religious component of education at PNARDS. Her parents know that here, she’ll get the best possible education with the religious component they find so important.
