Marvin tiene quince años y estudia sexto grado. Es su primer año en el colegio. Viene de un caserío afuera del pueblo que se llama «El Morrito». Marvin vive con sus abuelos y viene todos los días en una moto. Si no, caminaría aproximadamente una hora. Marvin ha aplazado año varias veces y este año, según el consejo de una vecina, el abuelo de Marvin lo matriculó en el colegio, porque las hijas de la vecina han progresado bastante también.
La materia favorita de Marvin es matemáticas y su comida favorita es el pollo. A Marvin le encanta jugar fútbol y su parte favorito del colegio es la cancha. En su tiempo libre, hace sus tareas, ayuda en la casa, y busca cualquier oportunidad para jugar. Cuando sea grande, quiere ser mecánico.

Marvin is fifteen years old and in sixth grade. This is his first year at PNARDS. He comes from a tiny village outside of Agua Caliente called “El Morrito.” Marvin lives with his grandparents and comes to school every day on a dirt bike. Otherwise, he’d have to walk for about an hour. Marvin has been held back several years and this year, his grandfather decided to enroll him at PNARDS, because he’d heard from his neighbors that their daughters had progressed in their reading skills.
Marvin’s favorite subject is math and his favorite food is chicken. Marvin loves to play soccer and his favorite part of coming to school here is the roofed basketball court. In his free time, he does his homework, helps out around the house, and looks for any opportunity to play soccer. When he grows up, he wants to be a mechanic.
