Michelle tiene catorce años y estudia octavo en el colegio. Su hermanita, Gabriela, estudia segundo aquí también. Este es el primer año que Michelle estudia aquí, antes iba a un colegio católico en San Salvador.
La materia favorita de Michelle es matemáticas, y cuando sea grande, quiere ser licenciada en administración de empresas. Le gusta leer, bailar, escuchar música, y hablar con su prima, Vicky. A Michelle le gusta todo tipo de carne y frutas y se lleva mejor con su papá que con su mamá.
El año pasado, la mamá de Michelle tuvo un crisis económico y por eso las hermanas han venido a vivir aquí, con su tía Alba y sus primos, Vicky y Diego. Ellos también estudian en el colegio. Así, la mamá de Michelle se puede recuperar un poco, ya que la colegiatura es menos de la cuarta parte de lo que pagaba en la capital. Además, le hemos ofrecido una beca a Michelle, dado que su hermana también está aquí.

Michelle is fourteen years old and attends eighth grade at PNARDS. Michelle’s younger sister, Gabriela, is in second grade here. This is her first year here; she used to attend a Catholic school in San Salvador.
Michelle’s favorite subject is math and when she grows up she wants to get a degree in business administration. She likes reading, dancing, and listening to music, or talking with her cousin, Vicky, who is one year older. Michelle likes meat and fruits and she gets along better with her dad than her mom!
Michelle’s mom had a financial crisis last year and because of that, the sisters are currently living with their aunt, Alba, and their cousins, Vicky and Diego, who also go to school at PNARDS. This arrangement is allowing Michelle’s mom to get back on her feet (and tuition here is less than a quarter of what it was at her old school!). We have even offered Michelle a scholarship to help out, since her sister is also here.
