The Missions of Padre Fuentes is currently developing an internship program in El Salvador. The focus of this program will be working at the school in Agua Caliente or the medical clinic in Chalatenango, although interests outside these two venues are not discouraged. If you feel the desire to make a difference in the lives of people who will always be grateful that you came, please consider this program.
La misión está en el proceso de desarrollar un programa de practicantes en El Salvador. El enfoque de este programa sería trabajar en el colegio o en la clínica, aunque también se consideraría otros intereses. Si sientes el deseo de hacer una diferencia en la vida de gente que siempre te lo agradecerá, considera este programa.
Internships at the Colegio:
The colegio is in a constant state of development. Interns at the colegio would be expected to help teach English and hold cultural presentations, as well as support new projects, such as:
- Curriculum development and internet skills for the computer lab
- Curriculum development for the science lab
- Curriculum development for the mathematics program
- Development of the Spanish language library
- Development of the music program and band
Interns with an interest in entrepreneurship would also be welcome, as the colegio supports a small bakery and cafeteria on the campus, and these provide opportunity for a case study in increasing profitability. The campus also houses a carpentry shop, which could be developed in the same way as the bakery. Additional ideas are also welcome.

El colegio siempre se está mejorando. Practicantes en el colegio podrían ayudar con las clases de inglés y dar presentaciones culturales, además de apoyar a proyectos nuevos, como:
- Desarrollo de clases y materias para el laboratorio de computación
- Desarrollo de clases y materias para el laboratorio de ciencias
- Desarrollo de clases para la materia de matemáticas

Practicantes con intereses en el área de emprendedurismo también están bienvenidos, ya que el colegio tiene en su campus un pequeño chalet y una panadería, dando oportunidad a un estudio de casos en mejorar el márgen de ganancia. También hay una carpintería con las mismas oportunidades. Se acepta otras ideas.
Internships at the clinic:
The clinic is always in need of skilled medical and nursing staff. Qualified interns would be able to work in conjunction with one of the clinic staff. Interns interested in public health or outreach would also be welcome.
Other Internship Responsibilities:
Interns may also be expected to help with any mission trips that will be visiting the colegio or clinic during their stay, as well as any visits from other humanitarian organizations, such as Habitat for Humanity or EyeCare International. You will also be able to communicate with the US Project Coordinator whose job is to increase the outwho will be working on improving this website and outreach to others in the US.

La clínica siempre tiene necesidad de doctores y enfermeras. Los practicantes calificados podrían trabajar en conjunto con uno de los doctores permanentes de la clínica. También están bienvenidos practicantes el área de salud pública.
Otras responsabilidades:
Además de su trabajo definido, los practicantes ayudarían con cualquier misión que llegue durante su estantía o cualquier visita de otra ONG, tales como Habitat para la Humanidad o Eye Care International. También podrán comunicarse con el Coordinador en Estados Unidos, cuyo trabajo es difundir la misión allí.
General Information:
Each intern will work closely with Padre Fuentes and the project coordinator to develop a plan that will make a lasting impact on the community, depending on the interests and qualifications of the intern.
We are asking each intern to make a time commitment of at least one month, and preferably three months.
Knowledge of the Spanish language is not a pre-requisite, but would be extremely helpful. Language instruction will be provided, in order to facilitate communication with the people you will be serving.
Room and board will be provided at the Pilgrim House recently built on the grounds of the colegio. The intern will be expected to cover their own airfare to and from El Salvador, however, transportation to and from the airport and within the country will be covered.

Información general:
Cada practicante trabajará con Padre Rafael y el coordinador de proyectos para desarrollar un plan que tendrá un impacto duradero en la comunidad, dependiendo de los intereses y calificaciones del practicante.
Idealmente, la práctica durará entre uno y tres meses.
Conocimiento del idioma español no es un requisito pero sí será de mucha ayuda. Si el practicante no habla español, se le facilitará un curso para poder comunicarse mejor con la gente que estará a su alrededor.
Se le dará comida y vivienda en la nueva «casa del peregrino» en el colegio. El vuelo es a costo del practicante, sin embargo, una vez en El Salvador se le proveerá transporte.
